Exploring Drawing and Painting

4:30-6:30 PM

This 6 week class for grades 3-5 will dive deeper into the basics of painting and drawing and how to use the elements and principles of art to create dynamic and interesting artwork. Students will create art based on styles of famous historic and contemporary artists in their own interpretations. Students will use their understanding of drawing techniques and painting styles to create mixed media works in their own personal style. No experience is required for our Exploring classes and we encourage a willingness to try new things and make mistakes. By the end of the class, students will have confidence in creating their own art, talking about the art they’ve made and art created by others, and be willing to try new things in the creative process!

Paint Your Pet with Bridge Between Animal Rescue

Come join us for a fun and creative event where you can paint a masterpiece of your beloved pet on an ornament! Hosted by MC Deal Art, this in-person event will allow you to unleash your artistic side while supporting Bridge Between Animal Rescue. No experience is necessary - just email a photo of your pet to mcdeal.art@gmail.com AT LEAST 48 hours before the event and we'll provide all the materials you need. The Art Room is open! Drop by anytime between 5-8 PM on Wednesdays for self-directed, creative fun for children and adults. This season explore drawing, painting, collage, plus rotating seasonal activities. A museum educator will be on hand to share studio rules and provide helpful tips.

Sensory-Friendly Art Class for Adults

Magic Canvas, Indian Land YMCA

Join us for some creativity and fun! You will learn to follow along step-by-step to create an acrylic masterpiece on a 9×12 canvas. This class is specifically for adults who benefit from a sensory-friendly environment with reduced capacity (Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disorders (IDD) welcome). Includes instruction and all supplies for an acrylic paint project

Artists will meet on FRIDAY, November 15th at 1 pm to create their very own masterpiece on a 9×12 canvas
